Bariston Partners, LLC (BP) is a private equity investment firm which provides both capital and a range of management assistance to corporate clients in selected industries.  BP is the successor company to Bariston Holdings, Inc., which was founded in 1986 by David Barry.  BP has sponsored investments totaling in excess of $1 billion of debt and equity financing.

BP concentrates on businesses where it has industry-specific expertise and can add significant value to successful, growing companies.  BP originates and executes management-led buyouts, retaining an ownership interest in the resulting entities.  Specific activities include: (1) identifying high quality management teams within attractive industries; (2) negotiating acquisitions with sellers and providing capital, as needed, for deposits and transaction expenses; (3) negotiating the employment arrangements and ownership participations with key managers; (4) providing and arranging the financing required to complete the acquisition; and (5) following closing, serving on the Board of Directors of the newly-formed companies and providing assistance to management with respect to merger and acquisition and capital raising activities.  BP’s revenues result from realization of equity participation in its portfolio companies, income from its portfolio investments, and compensation for advisory services.

BP has a twenty-year history of applying a consistent and disciplined approach to middle market transactions.  In each instance, Bariston is alert to the changing conditions that contribute to an attractive investment opportunity.  These conditions generally involve some combination of company fundamentals, industry dynamics, changing valuation paradigms, regulation, and significant shifts within the capital markets.  Subsequent realignment of these factors frequently signals an exit from a specific investment and oftentimes an industry.  BP does not pursue opportunities involving significant technology risks.  Rather, the firm’s expertise and interest lie in assessing the risk associated with a client’s business strategy and then proactively assisting in its implementation.
